This course introduces students to basic Oracle database administration. In this class, students learn to install and maintain an Oracle database. The course begins with a conceptual understanding of the Oracle database architecture and the software installation process.
Students learn how to create an operational database and properly configure its physical and logical components. These topics are followed by detailed instruction on the best practices for performance monitoring, database security, user management and backup/recovery operations.
These topics are reinforced with structured hands-on lab exercises.
Course Goals
To develop the skills necessary to perform basic database administration tasks for an Oracle database.
To provide instruction on installing Oracle software, configuring the instance, managing database structures, perform backup and recovery, and troubleshoot performance issues.
To complete challenging hands-on exercises in an interactive, instructor-led environment.
