Students in this course will gain a firm foundation in the BI Publisher technology. A 2-day course, BI Publisher can be taught with 2 focus areas. The first focus area is the overlap with Oracle Business Intelligence Suite (OBI), and the second focus area is the overlap with Oracle Applications (Apps). In Oracle Applications implementations, BI Publisher is commonly referred to as XML Publisher. Both courses will expose students to the basic mechanics of building a full production quality BI Publisher report. Both will discuss the current Oracle reporting paradigm and the technical shift in direction from Oracle Report to Bi Publisher. Where the courses differ is in their respective reporting architectures. While Oracle BI Publisher can integrate and function as a integrated component of Oracle Business Intelligence, or even provide a reporting medium as a standalone, BI Publisher is also tightly integrated with the reporting capabilities of Oracle Applications. Even executives and managers can gain insight into various ways to leverage their BI Publisher investment with existing Oracle Reports and data feeds.
