Overview

In 2001, TUSC, which prides itself on staying on top of the technology curve, announced a major breakthrough with the creation of Periscope, software that successfully selects data from other data sources (i.e., Microsoft Access, Sybase, SQL Server, DB2, etc.). The data also can be inserted, updated and deleted from many source databases.

The groundbreaking tool works with more than 100 databases that utilize a JDBC driver.

With Periscope, users now have access to their companies' enterprise data in real time to enhance and expand the decision-making process at the appropriate levels within their respective organizations.

The software addresses a major problem facing many firms today. When involved with mergers and acquisitions, companies are forced to run disparate systems and are overwhelmed with the manual compilation of information. Until now, the only way to solve that dilemma was to convert those systems or use expensive gateway products. Periscope resolves the issue and allows the multiple systems to co-exist until the time, resources and funding are available for conversion.

Periscope originated out of feedback from TUSC customers who experienced great difficulty and high costs when accessing data stored in non-Oracle databases. TUSC accepted the challenge and developed a tool that allows data access without monumental cost, maintenance, training and resource commitment commonly associated with purchasing a gateway tool.
