Job Description
TUSC "The Oracle Experts" are currently seeking a Senior Unix Administrator with Oracle DBA experience to work in a high availability production support environment. The position is based in Lombard, IL and does NOT require travel.
Job Requirements
- Unix Administration: Solaris, AIX, HP, Linux environments
- Software configuration/OS
- Veritas Netbackup
- SAN
- EMC disk storage
- Management of database
- Perform backup, recoveries, installations, performance tuning, monitoring and conversions
- SQL, PL/SQL
- Oracle 9i/10g
- US Citizenship is Required
- NO Travel Required
Responsibilities
- Solid system administration experience in at least two UNIX (Solaris, HP, AIX, Linux Red Hat) operating systems and Linux OS.
- Solid experience with EMC disk storage install and configuration. Other disk storage systems like Hitachi or Sun disk array would be beneficial.
- Solid experience applying OS patches and a clear methodology for OS patch mgmt.
- Experience with Veritas Netbackup; would need to have installed/configured the product and explain complex backkup/recovery strategies w/the product.
- Experience configuring/setting up network interfaces on the Unix and Linux OS.
- Experience with a clustering technology like Sun or Veritas.
- Experience with tuning the OS kernel parameters for the Oracle db and Oracle Application Server.
- Experience installing the Oracle db or Oracle Application Server would be beneficial.
- Printer setup exp.
- At least a functional knowledge of network routing configuration exp
