Job Description

TUSC is currently looking to add talented Oracle Database Administrators to our growing consulting team. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5-8 years experience as an Oracle DBA.

Job Requirements

Senior Oracle DBAs are responsible for defining the complete customer solutions and database administration services to configure and maintain large Oracle environments, including the Oracle eBusiness Suite. Architecture services include capacity planning and designing solutions to meet High Availability, scalability, and disaster recovery requirements for clients. Previous consulting experience is a plus.

Skills Required

Must have 5-8 years experience as an Oracle DBA, which encompasses installing, upgrading, and supporting Oracle database software and the associated Oracle Technology stack in a multi-tier environment including: database server, applications server, web server, reports server, forms server, admin server, and discoverer server environment. Experience with Oracle 10g and Oracle Database 9i product versions in UNIX environments is a must. A must have is Oracle Database Administration experience with configuration, load balancing, backup/recovery, sizing and space management, PL/SQL tuning, diagnostics, and proficient with the use of Oracle's Enterprise Manager tool. Must experience opening, managing, and resolving Oracle TAR's and have installation of portal experience. Applications and plain vanilla DBA experience is a plus.

Skills Preferred

Strong interpersonal, communication, and client-facing skills, which demonstrates confidence and fosters a "Trusted Advisor" relationship with the client. Candidate must have 1 or more of the following skills:
  • Server and application sizing and capacity planning
  • Server and application tuning for performance and scalability
  • Performance testing experience
  • Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions
  • Server consolidation
  • Advanced security (Virtual Private Database, Labels etc)
  • Networking, business intelligence
  • Database and application server internals

Responsibilities

Implement and/or upgrade Oracle Application solutions to our clients. Design & build the specific application business process model to meet the business requirements; responsible for the process related task of the deliverables and application set up. Provide CRM Functional expertise in application & industry standards. Identify tools and techniques within the Oracle Application in designing the solutions.

Education

BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related degree.

Travel Requirements

Must be open to 100% travel.
